What a trip! Although
the first shark took 55 minutes to arrive it
wasn't long after that we had two great
whites around our boat. Our second female
shark was around 3 - 3.5m in length and
stuck around the boat for a long time giving
clients in the cage great passes. If that
wasn't enough we were extremely lucky to
have whales close by which was fantastic to
see. I hope everyone had a great time,
thanks to everyone on board. Regards, Alison
and James

Wind direction: S
Current direction:
N
Wind speed: 10kts
Water visibility:

Patagonian Toothfish, Tuna mince.
Arrival time:

No of sharks
sighted: 3
Respective
individual lengths: 3.0m, 2.0m, 2.5m.
Our natural fish
oils left at the cage from our morning
trip definately did the trick as we had
a shark at the boat as soon as we got
there. This great white female was our
biggest of the day at around three
metres in length and dark grey in
colour. Again the water temperature was
extremely cold but it didn't stop divers
from getting in the cage and
witnessing fantastic visibility when the
sharks did arrive at the boat. Thankyou. Regards,
Alison.

Considering the
water temperature was so low we managed
to see three sharks in total at the
boat. Shark activity was at a mininmal
but again this is usually common when
the water is so cold as the sharks are
conserving energy elsewhere. Visibility
was at around eight metres enabling us
to see to the bottom of the Atlantic and
when we did get a shark to the bait line
clients had no problem seeing the great
white from the cage. Well done to all
those who braved the cold waters and
thankyou to everyone on board. Regards,
Alison
Great White Shark cage diving trip 24 November 2007

Date: 24/11/2007
Location: Geelbeck
moving to Joubert's Dam
Sea condition:
Flat/choppy
Water
Temperature: 13.3 C
Wind direction: S
Current direction:
N
Wind speed:
5-10kts
Water visibility:
6m
Cloud coverage:
40%
Water depth: 12.2m
Bait Type:
Patagonian Toothfish, Tuna mince.
Arrival time:
11:10am
No of sharks
sighted: 6
Respective
individual lengths: 3m, 2.5 - 3m, 2.5m,
2.0m, 2.5m, 2.5 - 3m.
Although our
intial location didn't work out we moved
to our original spot at Joubert's Dam
and instantly had sharks circuling our
boat. The first two sharks which were 3
metres and 2.5 - 3 metres
respectively that arrived at our boat
were clearly the largest and were not
afraid to go for our bait or decoy.
Again the sea temperature was very cold
but visibility was great which gave
divers fantastic views of the sharks.
Regards, Alison.

Date:
23/11/2007
Location: Joubert's
Dam (afternoon trip)
Sea condition:
Flat/choppy
Water
Temperature: 14.6 C
Wind direction: S
Current direction: N
Wind speed: 5-10kts
Water visibility:
6-7m
Cloud coverage: 70%
Water depth: 12.2m
Bait Type:
Patagonian Toothfish,
Tuna mince.
Arrival time:
14:45pm
No of sharks
sighted: 3
Respective
individual lengths:
2.5m, 2.5m, 2.5m.
Like our morning
trip we only had to
wait a short time
for our first shark
which happened to be
a dark grey male.
This particular
shark had a clear
white patch on his
dorsal fin and was
around 2.5 metres in
length. Although the
water was cold,
having two great
white sharks at the
same time circuling
the boat gave divers
a massive incentive
to stay in the cage!
Thanks to everyone
on board. Regards,
Alison.

It was great to
only have to wait five minutes for our
first shark, which was a juvenile 1.5
metre long female. Again visibility was
fantastic as divers could see around six
or seven metres in front of the cage
making the sharks coming in at the bait
line alot easier to see. Sea temperature
had dropped to 13.9 C but it didn't stop
our clients from entering the cage and
seeing some awesome great white sharks.
Thanks. Regards, Alison.

Water visibility: 2-3m
Cloud coverage: 90%
Water depth: 11.1m

No of sharks sighted: 6
Respective individual lengths: 2.5m,
2.0m, 1.5m, 2.5m, 2.5m, 2.5m.
A bit of a bumpy trip today as the sea
condition was choppy, however we only
waited 35 minutes for our first shark
which was around 2.5 metres in length.
Sharks started off reluctant to come up
to the boat but towards the end of the
trip clients witnessed some good
cage passes. All in all we had six
different sharks circle our boat which
would sometimes come out of nowhere as
visibility was around three metres.
Thanks to everyone on board, regards
Alison.
