Location: Gansbaai, South Africa
Dive site: Joubertsdam
Water temp: Moderate
Visibility: Moderate
Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks + Cape fur seals
Trip Summary: This morning wasn't the warmest or sunniest day here in Gansbaai. But despite the weather, we set out from Kleinbaai Harbor in wetsuits towards Joubertsdam. After anchoring, we patiently waited for the first shark to arrive. And soon enough, they started showing up one by one. We had some big, mature females around today, reaching up to 340 cm. The sharks were so active and stayed around the cage, giving all divers a close look underwater. We also had a cheeky Cape fur seal that came around at the end, hunting for mullets. After pulling anchor, we headed to Shark Ally for a quick visit to the Cape fur seal colony before heading back to Kleinbaai Harbor and the Great White House for some well-deserved hot soup and bread. Thank you to all our guests for joining us today!
