Marine Dynamics, a diving
operation specialising in encounters with the Great White shark (Carcharodon
carcharias), is based in the fishing village of
Gansbaai, Western Cape, South Africa. Six nautical miles away is Dyer
Island, possibly the best place in the world to view these magnificent
predators.
The island is a bird sanctuary and a breeding site for the African
penguin and many other coastal birds. Adjoining it is a second, smaller
rocky island called Geyser rock which supports a large seal population.
Separating Geyser and Dyer is a channel aptly named "Shark Alley",
arguably THE prime spot in the world for encountering the Great White
shark.
We offer shark cage diving and surface viewing and we charge R1100.00
per person. Click here to find
out why you should choose Marine Dynamics.
We can assist with transfers to Gansbaai and accommodation. and we can
arrange a personalised video/DVD of your shark trip. Your return trip
From & to Cape Town can be arranged for R250. You will be travelling
in a spacious air-conditioned vehicle.
Southern right whales breed along the coast between July and December.
These incredible marine mammals can be viewed with our sister company,
Dyer Island Cruises, the only boat-based whale watching permit holder
around Dyer Island.
Why not spend some time in the area and combine
shark cage diving and whale watching?
