Location: Gansbaai, South Africa
Dive site: Joubertsdam
Water temp: Moderate
Visibility: Poor
Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, African penguins + Cape fur seals & Cape gannets
Summary: On our first trip today, we spotted a raft of endangered African penguins on our way to the anchor site. This gave our guests a chance to see them up close. Once we anchored at Joubertsdam, we witnessed Bronze whaler sharks in action. A Cape fur seal also approached our divers in the cage. Before heading back to the land, we visited Shark Ally to show our guests the colony of a "few thousand" cape fur seals. Despite the cold wind and swell, we had an incredible day with amazing wildlife sightings.
